Eastern Jin Dynasty
From 317 to 420 AD, the regime established after Sima Rui, a member of the Western Jin imperial clan, moved southward following the fall of the Western Jin capital Luoyang, is historically known as the Eastern Jin Dynasty. Additionally, historical texts sometimes refer to it as the Central Jin, modeled after the Eastern Han being called Central Han, implying a restoration of the Jin dynasty. Since most of the Eastern Jin's territory was in Jiangdong, anciently called Jiangzuo, the term Jiangzuo is also used to denote the Eastern Jin.
