Xia Dynasty

Approximately 2070 to 1600 BCE, this was the first hereditary dynasty recorded in Chinese historical texts. Artifacts from the Xia period include a certain number of bronze and jade ritual vessels, dating to the late Neolithic and early Bronze Age; it is generally believed that the Xia Dynasty was a state formed by multiple tribal alliances or complex chiefdoms.
