Braised Pork Ribs with Radish

Ingredients

500 g (about 1 lb) pork ribs and 500 g (about 1 lb) daikon radish.

Seasonings

20 g soy sauce, 8 g scallion, 5 g each ginger, cornstarch, cooking wine, and sugar, 50 g oil, 4 g salt, and 3 g MSG.

Instructions

1. Cut the radish into chunks; cut scallions into sections; slice ginger.

2. Heat oil in a wok over high heat, add scallions, ginger, and radish, and stir-fry until lightly browned, then add cooking wine, soy sauce, salt, MSG, sugar, and water, add the ribs, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and simmer for 25 minutes.

3. When the sauce has thickened and the flavor is rich and aromatic, add the water-starch slurry, stirring until the sauce evenly coats all the ingredients.
