From 960 to 1279, China's feudal economy continued to develop but also began to decline, spanning 319 years. During this period, several rival ethnic regimes emerged, and the feudal mode of production gradually expanded to border regions. Eventually, the Yuan Dynasty unified China, establishing a vast multi-ethnic state.
