Tang Dynasty
From 618 to 907 AD, this was a unified central plains dynasty that succeeded the Sui Dynasty, with a total of twenty-one emperors and a reign lasting 289 years. The Tang Dynasty was one of the most powerful nations in the world at the time, with its reputation spreading far and wide, maintaining relations with countries across Asia and Europe. After the Tang, overseas Chinese often referred to themselves as Tang people.
