Eastern Zhou
Following the fall of the Western Zhou in 770 B.C., feudal lords enthroned the former Crown Prince Yijiu as King Ping of Zhou. He established the capital at Luoyi (modern-day Luoyang, Henan), marking the beginning of the Eastern Zhou.
The first half of this era is known as the Spring and Autumn Period, characterized by feudal lords vying for supremacy. Later, in 453 B.C., the Partition of Jin occurred when the Han, Zhao, and Wei families eliminated the Zhi family and divided the state. This event ushered in the Warring States Period, an era of constant warfare among the remaining states.
