Harvesting and Processing
After slaughter, remove feathers and internal organs, then use the meat and bones fresh. Alternatively, it can be frozen, stored in wine, or dried and ground into powder for later use.

Pharmacology

Prescriptions
1. For dysenteric disease with refusal to eat caused by excessive astringent medicinals damaging the stomach, presenting with mouth closure upon smelling food, cold extremities, and chronic dysentery: take one black-boned chicken, remove feathers and intestines, then braise until thoroughly cooked with Fennel (Xiaohuixiang), Galangal Rhizome (Liangjiang), Red Bean (Hongdou), Tangerine Peel (Chenpi), White Ginger (Baijiang), Sichuan Pepper (Huajiao), and salt. Let the patient smell the chicken to arouse the appetite. If the patient desires to eat, allow them to consume the broth and meat to restore stomach Qi. (From Puji Fang: Wu Ji Jian) 2. For Spleen deficiency with slippery diarrhea: take one black-boned hen, clean it thoroughly. Use Nutmeg (Doukou) 30 g and two Caoguo (Tsaoko). For red and white vaginal discharge, seminal emission, turbid urine, and lower source deficiency and debility: mix Ginkgo Seed (Baiguo), Lotus Seed (Lianrou), and Glutinous Rice (Jiangmi) each 15 g, and Black Pepper (Hujiao) 3 g, grind into powder.
