Processing

Take areca nut slices and stir-fry according to the plain stir-frying method (see "Stir-fry Trichosanthes Seed" item) until scorched yellow.

Medicinal Properties

This product is in the form of suborbicular thin slices, with a diameter of 1.5-3 cm and a thickness of 1-2 mm. The surface is burnt yellow, with a marbled pattern visible. The texture is brittle and easily broken. Odor: faint; Taste: astringent and slightly bitter.

Properties and Channel Entry

Bitter, acrid, and warm. Enters the Stomach and Large Intestine channels.

Functions and Indications

Promotes digestion and relieves stagnation. Used for undigested food accumulation and tenesmus (a feeling of incomplete evacuation) after diarrhea or dysentery.
