Processed product of Huangqi (Astragalus membranaceus).
Processing
Take Huangqi slices, process according to the honey-frying method (refer to "Zhigancao" entry) and stir-fry until no longer sticky to the touch.
Medicinal Properties
This product appears as round or oval thick slices, 0.8-3.5 cm in diameter and 0.1-0.4 cm thick. The outer bark is light brownish-yellow or light brownish-brown, with a slight luster, and visible longitudinal wrinkles or grooves. On the cut surface, the bark portion is yellowish-white, the wood portion is light yellow, with radial striations and fissures. It has a honey-like fragrance, a sweet taste, a slight stickiness, and a faint beany flavor when chewed.
Properties and Channel Entry
Sweet, warm. Enters the Lung and Spleen channels.
Functions and Indications
Tonifies Qi and supplements the Middle Burner. Used for Qi deficiency with fatigue, reduced appetite, and loose stools.

9-30 g.
