Processing
Take the dried Daji pieces, process according to the charcoal-firing method, and stir-fry until the surface turns charred black. (Charcoal-firing method: place the material to be processed into a hot wok, stir-fry over high heat until the surface becomes charred black and the interior turns charred brown or reaches the specified degree, then spray a small amount of water to extinguish sparks, remove, and air-dry.)
Medicinal Properties
This product is in irregular segments. The surface is blackish-brown. The texture is loose and brittle, with a brownish-black cross-section. Odor: charred aromatic.
Properties and Channel Entry
Bitter, astringent, and cool. Enters the Heart and Liver channels.
Functions and Indications
Cools Blood and stops bleeding. Used for epistaxis, hemoptysis, hematuria, hematochezia, metrorrhagia and metrostaxis, and traumatic bleeding.
Dosage and Administration
5-10 g, mostly taken in pill or powder form.
