Processing
Take licorice slices, stir-fry according to the honey-frying method until yellow to deep yellow, remove when no longer sticky, and let cool. (Honey-frying method: when honey-frying, first dilute the refined honey with an appropriate amount of boiling water, add it to the material to be processed, mix well, allow to soak through, place in a stir-frying container, stir-fry over gentle heat until the specified degree is reached, remove, and let cool. When honey-frying, use refined honey. Unless otherwise specified, use 25 kg of refined honey for every 100 kg of material to be processed.)
Medicinal Properties
This product presents as roundish or elliptical slices. The outer bark is reddish-brown or grayish-brown with a slight sheen. The cut surface is yellow to deep yellow, with a distinct cambium ring and radiating rays. It is slightly sticky. It has a burnt aromatic odor and a sweet taste.

Sweet, neutral. Enters the Heart, Lung, Spleen, and Stomach channels.

Tonifies the Spleen and harmonizes the Stomach, tonifies the Qi and restores the pulse

2-10 g.
Precautions and Contraindications
Not to be used concurrently with Haizao (Sargassum), Jingdaji (Knoxia), Hongdaji (Stellera), Gansui (Kansui), and Yuanhua (Genkwa).
