1. For pneumonia: Renshen 6 g, decoct in water and take orally.Citrullus lanatus(Thunb.) Matsumu. et Nakai, processed from the ripe fresh fruit and crude Glauber's salt.
Processing
1. Select watermelons that are not yet fully ripe, peel and cut into small pieces. For every 10 jin of watermelon peel, add 15 jin of crude Glauber's salt (Pixiao), mix well, and place into a yellow sand jar. First, line the bottom of the jar with a layer of watermelon peel as padding. After filling the jar with the salted watermelon peel mixture, cover the top with another layer of watermelon peel, seal the jar, and place it in a ventilated area. After several days, white frost will continuously precipitate on the outside of the yellow sand jar. Gently sweep off the frost until no more precipitates. Remove sand and impurities from the collected white frost to obtain pure Watermelon Frost (Xiguashuang).
2. Select a watermelon weighing 3-3.5 kg, cut open at the stem end, remove some of the flesh, fill the cavity with 500 g (or more) of crude mirabilite, then replace the cut piece of rind, secure it with bamboo sticks, and hang it in a cool, ventilated place. After about 10 days, a white frost will continuously appear on the outer surface of the rind; collect this frost gradually as it forms. The prepared watermelon frost should be stored in a lime jar or sealed in a porcelain container, kept in a cool, dry place, protected from moisture and heat.
