Seasonings

150 g glutinous rice (about 1 1/3 cups), 100 g black sesame seeds (about 3/4 cup), 75 g walnut halves (about 3/4 cup), assorted candied fruits to taste.

Steps

1. Rinse the glutinous rice until clean, soak it in fresh water, then place it in a steamer and steam over high heat with boiling water for 30 minutes until fully cooked; remove from the steamer.

2. Toast the sesame seeds and walnuts separately in a clean dry pan until fragrant, then remove and crush into small pieces; dice the assorted candied fruits into small bits.

3. Heat vegetable oil in a wok or pan, add the cooked glutinous rice and stir-fry briefly, then add sugar, black sesame seeds, walnuts, and candied fruit, stirring everything together until well combined, then transfer to a bowl, invert onto a plate, and serve.
