150 g (about 3/4 cup) rice, 200 g (about 7 oz) small pork ribs, 1 lotus leaf, and a little cilantro (coriander), cut into sections.

Seasonings

1 tablespoon soy sauce, a pinch each of sugar, cooking wine, MSG, ground white pepper, scallions, and five-spice powder, and 2 teaspoons sesame oil.

Steps

1. Heat a wok over high heat, add the rice and stir-fry until it puffs up, then remove from the wok.

2. Wash the ribs, then combine with rice, soy sauce, sugar, cooking wine, MSG, ground pepper, and five-spice powder, mixing well. Marinate for 30 minutes.

3. Blanch the lotus leaves in boiling water until softened, then remove and rinse clean. Line a steamer basket with the leaves, place the marinated ribs and rice on top, and steam over high heat for 40 minutes. Sprinkle with cilantro segments and serve.
