Ingredients
500 g (about 1 lb) all-purpose flour and 500 g (about 1 lb) peas.
Seasonings
Sugar, baking powder, and osmanthus sugar, each to taste.
Instructions
1. Shell the peas and rinse them clean, place in a pot with enough water to cover, cook until soft, then mash into a puree, stir in sugar and sweet osmanthus syrup until well combined, let cool completely to form the filling.
2. Mix the baking powder into the flour, knead until smooth, then cover with a damp cloth and let it rest to rise. Dust a work surface with a little flour, roll the dough into a long strip, and divide it into 13 small portions. Press each piece into a round disc, spread an even layer of bean filling on top, and wrap it into a round bun. Place each bun seam-side down in a steamer basket and steam for 15 minutes until fully cooked.
