Crab Meat Chow Mein

Ingredients

250 g (about 9 oz) egg noodles, 100 g (about 3.5 oz) crab sticks, 50 g (about 1.8 oz) Chinese barbecued pork (char siu), 25 g (about 1 oz) peeled winter bamboo shoots, 15 g (about 0.5 oz) fresh cilantro.

Seasonings

1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon MSG, a pinch of white pepper, 125 ml (about 1/2 cup) broth, and 1 tablespoon vegetable oil.

Steps

1. Remove the outer film from the crab sticks and cut into small pieces; slice the char siu (Chinese BBQ pork); wash the cilantro and cut into small sections; wash the winter bamboo shoots and slice them.

2. Heat oil in a wok over high heat, add the barbecued pork slices and bamboo shoots and stir-fry briefly, then add the crab sticks, stock, salt, and MSG and bring to a boil.

3. Add the cooked egg noodles and stir-fry over high heat until well combined, then sprinkle with white pepper, top with cilantro segments, and serve immediately.
