Six-Pointed Star Cookies

Seasonings

200 g (about 1 3/4 cups) all-purpose flour, 80 g (about 1/3 cup plus 1 tablespoon) granulated sugar, 20 g (about 1 1/2 tablespoons) egg white, 130 g (about 1 stick plus 1 tablespoon) butter.

Seasonings

2 g salt, 2 g vanilla extract, 500 g (about 1 lb) powdered sugar, 45 g lemon juice, 5 g lemon zest.

Steps

1. Mix together powdered sugar, lemon juice, and lemon slices until smooth to make royal icing.

2. Mix the butter and sugar together, stirring for about 5 minutes, then add the egg whites and vanilla extract and mix until well combined.

3. Then add the flour mixture and mix evenly by hand, being careful not to overmix to prevent the dough from becoming tough.

4. Roll the dough into a long sheet about 0.5 cm (1/4 inch) thick, then cut into six-pointed star shapes.

5. Arrange them neatly on a baking sheet, then bake in a preheated oven at 170°C (340°F) for 12 minutes.

6. Remove from the oven and coat with royal icing to finish.
