Ingredients
30 dried red clams, 50 g (about 1.8 oz) beef.
Seasonings
soy sauce 4 tablespoons, sugar 2 tablespoons, ground white pepper 0.25 g, scallion 1, garlic 2 cloves, ginger 1 piece, cornstarch, sesame oil, and pine nut powder 1 tablespoon each, water 1 cup.
Instructions
1. Soak the red clams in water to clean them thoroughly, slice the beef thinly, and season both together with the sauce mixture.
2. Place the red clams and meat in a flat pan, add 1 cup of water and bring to a boil; when it boils, reduce the heat to low and simmer gently; slice the white scallion into thin strips; slice the garlic and ginger and add them in.
3. When the soup is almost done simmering, dissolve 1 tablespoon of starch in 1 tablespoon of cold water, add sesame oil, and continue simmering until glossy. Ladle into bowls and sprinkle with pine nut powder.
