
Ingredients
200 g black beans, 20 g red dates (jujubes).
Seasonings
Sugar to taste, 100 g (about 1/2 cup) milk.
Steps
1. Remove any impurities from the black beans, rinse and drain, then dry-fry them in a hot wok until fragrant, soak in water for 15 minutes, drain again; wash the red dates and chop them into small pieces.
2. Place a pot over high heat, add enough water, then add the red dates and black beans and bring to a boil. Skim off any foam, reduce the heat to medium, and simmer for about 1 hour. Pour in the milk and heat until just about to boil, then stir in sugar to taste. Remove from heat and ladle into bowls.
