Chestnut and Red Date Sweet Soup

Ingredients

150 g chestnuts, 50 g dried figs, 30 g red dates (jujubes).

Seasonings

Brown sugar, to taste.

Steps

1. Wash the chestnuts thoroughly, peel off the outer skin and remove the inner membrane; wash the red dates, remove the pits, and take the clean flesh.

2. Place the dried figs in a bowl, cover with warm water and soak until softened, then remove, rinse clean, and drain well.

3. Place a pot over high heat, add enough water to cover, then add the chestnuts, dried figs, and red dates. Bring to a boil, skim off any foam, then reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 40 minutes until the chestnuts are tender. Finally, add brown sugar and stir until dissolved, then ladle into bowls and serve.
