Crispy Fried Wontons

Learn how to make crispy fried wontons with a savory seasoning sauce.

Ingredients

1 box wonton wrappers, 1/3 teaspoon chopped cilantro.

Seasonings

2 teaspoons each of sugar, sesame oil, and minced garlic, 1/2 tablespoon each of soy sauce, Sichuan pepper powder, and chili oil, and 1/3 teaspoon of chopped scallions.

Instructions

1. Mix together sugar, sesame oil, minced garlic, soy sauce, Sichuan pepper powder, chili oil, chopped cilantro, and chopped scallions until well combined; set aside.

2. Remove the wontons directly from the package without thawing; heat oil in a wok or deep pan, then fry the wontons at 170°C–180°C (about 340°F–355°F) until golden brown (approximately 6–8 minutes), drain the oil, and transfer to a serving plate.

3. Pour the well-mixed seasoning sauce over the crispy fried wontons to finish the dish. These fried wontons are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a unique flavor and a perfectly balanced savory taste.
