Ingredients
1000 g (about 2.2 lbs) red sweet potatoes, 200 g (about 2/3 cup) honey.
Seasonings
125 g (about 1/2 cup) rock sugar.
Instructions
1. Select ripe, orange-fleshed sweet potatoes, wash, peel, and cut into pieces tapered at both ends.
2. Place a bamboo mat at the bottom of a clay pot, add water and rock sugar, cook over heat until the sugar dissolves, then add the red sweet potatoes and honey; once it comes to a boil, reduce to low heat and braise for 1 hour.
3. After the sauce has reduced, arrange the sweet potatoes on a plate and drizzle the original sauce over them. This snack has a golden color and a sweet, fragrant taste.
