Walnut Milk

Ingredients

250 g (about 1 cup) milk, 50 g (about 1/2 cup) walnut pieces.

Seasonings

200 g glutinous rice, a few red dates, and sugar to taste.

Instructions

1. Soak the walnuts in boiling water for a moment, then remove and peel off the skins, rinse clean, and grind into a fine powder; wash the glutinous rice thoroughly and grind it; soak the red dates until soft, peel off the skins, remove the pits, and mash them.

2. Place the pot over heat, add about 250 g (1 cup) of water, then add the walnuts, glutinous rice, and chopped dates. Bring to a boil and cook into a porridge. Add the milk, and when it is nearly done, stir in the sugar. Once fully cooked, ladle into bowls and serve. This dish is sweet and fragrant with a high moisture content, and is also rich in nutrients such as iron, calcium, phosphorus, and vitamins.
