250 g (about 1/2 lb) japonica rice, 75 g (about 1/2 cup) black sesame seeds.

Sugar to taste.
Instructions
1. Pick out any impurities from the black sesame seeds, rinse them clean, let them dry, then toast in a pan until fragrant, and grind into a fine powder.
2. Rinse the round-grained rice until clean, place it in a pot with enough water, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to a low simmer and cook until the rice is soft and the porridge thickens. Add the ground black sesame seeds, let the porridge come to a gentle boil, then stir in sugar. Ladle into bowls and serve.
