Carrot Congee

Ingredients

100 g (about 3.5 oz) carrots, 100 g (about 3.5 oz) glutinous rice, 1000 g (about 4 cups) water, 10 g (about 2 tablespoons) cilantro.

Seasonings

Lard 15 g (about 1 tbsp), MSG 2 g (about 1/2 tsp), fine salt 5 g (about 1 tsp).

Instructions

1. Finely chop the cilantro; peel and wash the carrot, then cut it into thin shreds.

2. Rinse the glutinous rice until clean, place it in a pot with water and shredded carrot, bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low heat and slowly simmer into a porridge. Stir in salt, MSG, lard, and chopped cilantro, then serve. This congee helps strengthen the spleen and stomach while promoting digestion.
