Ingredients
200 g Chinese chives, 150 g lean pork, 2 blocks of firm tofu, 250 g vegetable oil (about 10 g will be used).
Seasonings
10 g (about 1 tbsp) cornstarch mixed with water, 5 g (about 1 tsp) salt, and 3 g (about 1/2 tsp) MSG.
Instructions
1. Rinse the lean pork, slice it into thin strips, coat with water starch, and quickly stir-fry in warm oil until separated, then set aside; trim and wash the chives, cut into 3.3 cm (about 1.3 inch) lengths; slice the tofu into long strips.
2. Place a wok over high heat and add water. Once it comes to a boil, first add the tofu slices and pork slices. When the soup returns to a boil, add the chives, salt, and MSG. Cook briefly, then ladle into bowls and serve. This soup is deliciously fresh and nutritious.
