Beef penis and chicken, to taste.
Seasonings
Chicken fat, ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, cooking wine, goji berries, salt, and MSG, each to taste.
Instructions
1. Take a bull penis from a young male yellow cattle, weighing about 1000 g (2.2 lbs). Remove all outer skin, insert a sharp knife into the inner cavity and split it open, then wash thoroughly. Blanch in boiling water, then rinse in cold water. Peel off any loose skin, scrape away impurities, and blanch several more times until no odor remains.
2. Place 1000 g (about 4 cups) of water in an aluminum pot, add the beef penis, chicken fat, and chicken, bring to a boil over high heat, skim off all foam, add smashed ginger, Sichuan peppercorns, and Shaoxing wine, then reduce to low heat and simmer until about 80% tender. Remove the beef penis, cut it into strips, strain the original broth through cheesecloth to remove impurities, return the broth to the pot, add the goji berries and the sliced beef penis, and continue simmering until completely tender. When serving, season the soup in the bowl with salt and MSG to taste. This soup is rich and full-bodied, highly nutritious, and excellent for strengthening the body.
