
Ingredients
300 g fresh lotus root, 50 g carrot, 30 g toasted black sesame seeds.
Seasonings
1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon MSG, 1 teaspoon soy sauce, a pinch of white pepper, and 1500 g (about 6 1/2 cups) pork bone broth.
Steps
1. Peel the lotus root, wash it, and slice it thinly; peel the carrot, wash it, and cut it into plum blossom-shaped slices.
2. Place a pot over high heat, add pork bone broth and bring to a boil. First, add the lotus root slices, carrot slices, salt, and soy sauce, then bring to a boil again. Reduce the heat to low and simmer for about 30 minutes. Season with MSG and white pepper, then transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with black sesame seeds.
