Ingredients

500 g (about 1 lb) pork rib segments, 200 g (about 7 oz) Chinese broccoli (gai lan) cut into chunks, 50 g (about 1.75 oz) each of cleaned straw mushrooms and baby corn, and 30 g (about 1 oz) cleaned shrimp.

Seasonings

Shredded scallion, minced ginger, and minced garlic, a small amount each; salt and pepper to taste; 1/2 teaspoon each chicken bouillon and sugar; 1 tablespoon each cooking wine and soy sauce; 1000 g (about 4 cups) broth; 2 tablespoons vegetable oil.

Steps

1. Blanch the pork rib segments in boiling water, then remove and drain; blanch the Chinese broccoli pieces in boiling water with a pinch of sugar added, then remove and drain.

2. Heat oil in a wok or pot, sauté scallions, ginger, and garlic until fragrant, then add the pork ribs and stir-fry. Splash in cooking wine and soy sauce, then add straw mushrooms, baby corn, shrimp, Chinese broccoli, broth, salt, chicken bouillon, and pepper. Simmer until everything is well-flavored and serve.
