Potato and Carrot Soup

Ingredients

300 g potatoes (about 10 oz), 200 g napa cabbage (about 7 oz), 100 g pork (about 3.5 oz), 100 g carrot (about 3.5 oz), 1 onion, 1 stalk celery

Seasonings

1 tablespoon each of salt, MSG, and ground white pepper.

Steps

1. Peel the potatoes, wash them, and cut into thick rectangular strips, then place them in a bowl of water to soak; wash the pork and slice it into pieces.

2. Remove the root and any old leaves from the napa cabbage, wash it, and cut into large pieces; peel the carrot, wash it, and cut into small strips; pick over and wash the celery, then cut into sections.

3. Place the pot over heat, add enough water, then add the onion and pork slices and bring to a boil, skimming off any foam. Add the cabbage pieces, potato strips, carrot strips, and celery segments, and cook until tender. Season with salt, MSG, and pepper to taste.
