Chrysanthemum Shiitake Mushrooms

Ingredients

300 g fresh shiitake mushrooms, 1 cucumber, 1 cherry.

Seasonings

10 g minced ginger, 20 g minced scallion, 1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon MSG, 600 g (about 1 1/4 lb) fresh broth, and vegetable oil as needed.

Steps

1. Wash the mushrooms, then cut them into small strips; wash the cucumber and slice it thinly; wash the cherries.

2. Bring fresh broth to a boil in a wok or pot, add the mushrooms and blanch until cooked through, then remove and rinse under cold water. Drain and arrange on a plate, then toss evenly with salt, MSG or chicken bouillon, vegetable oil, minced scallions, and minced ginger.

3. Arrange the mushroom strips neatly on a plate in the shape of a chrysanthemum, surround with cucumber slices, and garnish the center with a cherry.
