
Ingredients
750 g (about 1.65 lbs) of Chinese lettuce (celtuce or stem lettuce).
Seasonings
1 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon chicken bouillon, 2 teaspoons scallion oil.
Steps
1. Trim the roots and leaves from the asparagus lettuce, peel off the tough outer skin, rinse thoroughly under cold water, and cut into thin shreds.
2. Place a pot on the stove, add water and bring to a boil. Blanch the shredded asparagus lettuce briefly, then remove and rinse under cold water, draining well.
3. Place the shredded Chinese lettuce (celtuce) in a large bowl, add salt, chicken bouillon, and scallion oil, toss to combine, then transfer to a serving plate and serve immediately.
