
Ingredients
450 g (about 1 lb) broccoli
Seasonings
5 g dried red chili flakes, 1/2 tablespoon salt, 1 teaspoon each of MSG, sugar, and vegetable oil, 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil.
Steps
1. Break the broccoli into evenly sized florets, wash them, then soak in lightly salted water for about 10 minutes. Drain and set aside.
2. Heat sesame oil in a wok until hot, then pour it into a small bowl with dried red chili flakes to release their fragrance, and stir in salt, MSG, and sugar to combine.
3. Bring water and vegetable oil to a boil in a pot, add the broccoli florets and blanch for about 2 minutes, then drain well.
4. Then soak in cold water for 2 minutes, drain well, transfer to a large bowl, pour the prepared chili oil dressing over the top, and toss to coat evenly.
