Sichuan-Style Pickled Vegetable Salad

Ingredients

400 g (about 14 oz) Chinese pickled vegetables, 100 g (about 3.5 oz) lettuce, 80 g (about 2.8 oz) crispy fried peanuts, toasted sesame seeds and canned mandarin orange segments to taste.

Seasonings

50 g French dressing, 30 g chili oil, 3 g white sugar, 2 g MSG.

Instructions

1. Dice the pickled vegetables; wash the lettuce and shred it into thin strips.

2. Place the pickled vegetables and crispy peanuts in a bowl, then add French dressing, chili oil, sugar, and MSG, and toss to combine. Arrange the mixture in the center of a round plate, surround with shredded lettuce, and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds.

3. Garnish the plate edge with canned mandarin orange segments. This dish has a light red color, a crisp and tender texture, and a savory-sour flavor with a hint of spiciness.
